What our translator checks
- Names with their diacritics, in the order of your passport. Vietnamese names usually start with the family name: we follow your passport so every document matches.
- Original certificate or extract: a birth certificate (giấy khai sinh) and an extract of the birth register (trích lục khai sinh) are different documents; we translate exactly the one you provide.
- Stamps, seals and signatures of the issuing People's Committee or office, translated where legible.
- Licence classes (such as A1 or B2) kept as on the original, with their meaning.
Visa and licence rules in short
- Visas: if you apply from Australia, Home Affairs asks for the translator's NAATI practitioner number on each translation.
- Licence transfer: Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania and the ACT accept translations by NAATI translators. NSW does not: for a NSW licence transfer, use the Free Translating Service or Multicultural NSW.

FAQ
How do you write my Vietnamese name in English? With all its diacritics if you wish, or exactly as in your passport. Tell us the spelling of your passport when you order, so every translation matches.
Do you translate the judicial record certificate (phiếu lý lịch tư pháp)? Yes. It is often requested for the character requirement of Australian visas when it is not in English.
Can I use your translation to transfer my Vietnamese licence in NSW? No. For a licence transfer, NSW only accepts the Free Translating Service and Multicultural NSW. You can use our translation in Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania and the ACT, and to drive or hire a car.
My birth certificate was reissued. Which one should I translate? The one the authority asks for. If you are unsure, translate the most recent official certificate and keep the original with it.
