Terms of service

Last updated: 5 November 2026

By placing an order on sealword.com you agree to these terms. “We” and “us” mean Sealword.

1. Who we are

Sealword is a private translation service. We are not NAATI, a government agency or acting for one. Translations are certified by independent translators who hold NAATI certification.

2. What you get

A certified English translation of the document you upload, as a PDF sent to the email address you give us. A first draft is prepared by software; a NAATI-certified translator then compares it with your original, corrects it and certifies it with their own digital stamp. The translator is responsible for the translation.

3. Prices and payment

The price is $69 per page for standard (24 hours) and $139 per page for express (1 hour), in Australian dollars. The price shown on the order page is the total you pay; we add no fee at checkout. Payment is taken in full when you order, by our payment processor, Whop.

A page is one side of one document, up to 250 words. A driver licence, front and back together, counts as 1 page. An order can include up to 50 pages.

4. Delivery times

Standard: within 24 hours of payment, at any time. Express: within 1 hour. The 1-hour time starts when your payment is confirmed and we have a readable copy of every page. It applies to express orders paid 8am–8pm, Monday to Saturday (Sydney time), for any language and any number of pages. Orders paid outside these hours are delivered within 1 hour of the next opening. If we miss the express delivery time, we refund the express surcharge ($70 per page) automatically to your original payment method; the rest of the order stays valid and is still delivered.

If your photo is unreadable or a page is missing, we will ask you for a new one before starting.

5. Acceptance by authorities

The authority you submit the translation to (for example the Department of Home Affairs, a state licensing authority or a car hire company) decides whether it accepts it. We do not guarantee acceptance. In particular, our translations are not accepted by Service NSW for a NSW licence transfer: Service NSW only accepts translations from Multicultural NSW, the Home Affairs Free Translating Service or, for Korean and Taiwanese licences, the relevant consulate. If you tell us you are transferring a licence in NSW, you must confirm that you understand this before you pay.

6. Your responsibilities

  • Upload clear, complete photos or scans of the original document, and tell us the correct state, purpose and spelling of names.
  • Only upload documents you are entitled to have translated.
  • Check the requirements of the authority you submit to before ordering.

7. Refunds and corrections

If you placed an order by mistake and we have not started work, we refund it in full. If the translation contains an error, we correct it free of charge. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law are not affected by these terms.

8. Your documents

We handle your documents as described in our privacy policy. They are deleted automatically after a set number of days.

9. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses caused by a decision of an authority not to accept a translation, or by information you gave us that was wrong or unreadable. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.
