NAATI certified translation, online and at a fixed price

A NAATI certified translation is an English translation checked and certified by a translator who holds NAATI certification for that language. It carries the translator's name, NAATI practitioner number and digital stamp, which can be checked online. Upload your document, and a NAATI-certified translator checks, corrects and certifies the translation. You receive the PDF by email.

What is a NAATI certified translation?

NAATI certifies individual translators, not companies. A certified translation is one that such a translator has checked against your original and signed off. It includes:

  • the full English translation of your document, including stamps, seals and handwritten notes where legible;
  • a certification statement with the translator's name and NAATI practitioner number;
  • the translator's NAATI digital stamp, which the receiving authority can verify online.

Certified and accredited translators

"Accredited" is the older NAATI credential, replaced by certification in 2018. Most authorities still accept both, but not all: Western Australia's DTMI no longer accepts translations by accredited translators dated after 1 January 2018 (with a few exceptions). Our translators hold NAATI certification.

Where a NAATI translation is used

  • Visa and citizenship applications. The Department of Home Affairs asks for documents not in English to be translated. If you apply from Australia, the translation must show the translator's NAATI practitioner number; if you apply from outside Australia, it must show the translator's full name, address, phone number and qualifications.
  • Licence transfers in Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia and South Australia.
  • Driving and car hire with an overseas licence that is not in English: see visitors and car hire.

Not for NSW licence transfers. Service NSW only accepts translations from Multicultural NSW or the Department of Home Affairs for a licence transfer, so we cannot help with that one.

The authority you submit to always decides what it accepts. If in doubt, check its current requirements before you order.

How it works

  1. Upload a photo or scan of your document, in any language.
  2. Our system prepares a first draft. A NAATI-certified translator checks it line by line against your original, corrects it and certifies it with their own digital stamp.
  3. You receive the certified PDF by email, ready to upload or print.

Price and turnaround

  • Standard: $69 per page, PDF within 24 hours.
  • Express: $139 per page, PDF within 1 hour for orders paid 8am–8pm, Monday to Saturday (Sydney time) with a clear and complete photo or scan. If we miss the 1-hour delivery time, the express surcharge ($70 per page) is refunded automatically.

FAQ

Is a NAATI translation accepted everywhere in Australia? No. Each authority decides what it accepts. Home Affairs and the licensing authorities of Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia and South Australia accept NAATI translations; Service NSW does not accept them for licence transfers.

Can I check that the translator is really NAATI certified? Yes. The translation shows the translator's name and NAATI practitioner number, and the digital stamp can be verified online.

Do you use AI? For the first draft only. A human NAATI-certified translator checks, corrects and certifies every translation and takes responsibility for it.

Which languages do you translate? Any language into English, in standard and express.

How long does it take? 24 hours in standard. 1 hour in express for orders paid 8am–8pm, Monday to Saturday (Sydney time) with a clear and complete photo or scan.
