Hindi to English certified translation

We translate Hindi documents from India into English for visa, citizenship, licence and skills assessment applications in Australia. Many Indian documents are already partly in English: we translate the parts that are not.

What our translator checks

  • Bilingual documents: when a certificate is in Hindi and English, we translate the Hindi parts and keep the layout, so the authority sees the whole document in English.
  • Names and spellings: Indian names can be spelled several ways in English. We use the spelling of your passport.
  • Stamps and signatures of the registrar, notary or magistrate, translated where legible.

Licence and visa rules in short

  • Licence transfer: India is not on the Austroads list of recognised jurisdictions: you can still transfer your licence, but your state may ask you to pass a knowledge, hazard perception or driving test. See which licences convert without a test.
  • NSW: for a NSW licence transfer, only the Free Translating Service and Multicultural NSW are accepted, not private translations such as ours. See what NSW accepts.
  • Visas: if you apply from Australia, Home Affairs asks for the translator's NAATI practitioner number on each translation, which ours show.

When you don't need us

If every part of your document is already in English, it does not need a translation. An Indian police clearance certificate, for example, is issued in English: see how to get an Indian PCC in Australia.

  • Standard: $69 per page, PDF within 24 hours.
  • Express: $139 per page, PDF within 1 hour for orders paid 8am–8pm, Monday to Saturday (Sydney time) with a clear and complete photo or scan. If we miss the 1-hour delivery time, the express surcharge ($70 per page) is refunded automatically.

FAQ

My birth certificate is in Hindi and English. Do I need a translation? Only the parts in Hindi need translating. If everything is in English, no translation is needed.

Can you translate an affidavit about my name or date of birth? Yes. Affidavits in Hindi are translated in full, including the notary or magistrate's stamp.

Do you translate other Indian languages? Yes: Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Urdu and others, into English.
